Hannah Kochman
Head Trainer and Scottsdale Location Manager who helps anxious and quirky dogs find their footing
About Hannah
Hi, I'm Hannah, and I consider myself born and raised at Partners Dog Training. I started here seven years ago as an animal care tech and snake avoidance handler, and I have been part of nearly every corner of this school since. Today I lead the training team at our Scottsdale location on Shea as Head Trainer and Location Manager.
Over the years I have instructed our Pet Parenting Classes and worked with thousands of dogs, from household puppies who need foundation skills and basic manners all the way to serious behavior modification cases. I am especially drawn to the physical health and mental well-being side of training, because a dog who feels good in their body and settled in their mind is a dog who can actually live well with their family.
The oddballs are my favorite. Give me the anxious, quirky dog and I will help them build real confidence.
Specialties & Programs
Training Philosophy
I train with a balanced approach that we personalize to each dog, and I lean on our four stages to keep the work honest: Teaching a new skill clearly, Reinforcing it until it holds, Proofing it around real distractions, and Maintenance so it lasts for life. Insecure and anxious dogs teach you to slow down and read what is actually in front of you, so I meet each dog where they are and build from there. The goal is never a dog who performs for a treat in a quiet room. It is a dog who can handle the front door, the vet visit, and the busy sidewalk, and an owner who knows exactly how to keep that going at home.
Ideal Client & Goals
My favorite dogs to work with are the oddballs. The insecure ones, the anxious ones, the quirky ones who do not fit the usual mold. I love figuring out what makes a unique character tick and then helping them build the life skills they were missing, so a dog who used to shrink from the world can move through it with confidence. If you have a dog other people found too complicated, that is exactly the dog I want to help.
Experience
I have been with Partners Dog Training for seven years, starting as an animal care tech and snake avoidance handler and growing into Head Trainer and Location Manager at our Scottsdale location. In that time I have instructed our Pet Parenting Classes and trained thousands of dogs, ranging from puppies who need foundation work and basic manners to behavior modification cases that need a steady, patient hand.
Favorite moment: My favorite part of this work is watching a dog who used to be anxious or unsure start to relax and trust the process. When a quirky, insecure dog finally figures out that they can handle the world, and their family sees it happen, that is the moment I keep showing up for.
