Megan Fiedler
Cave Creek Head Trainer and Location Manager specializing in behavior modification and misunderstood dogs
About Megan
Hello, my name is Megan, and I am the Head Trainer and Location Manager at our Cave Creek location. I have been with Partners for more than nine years. I run the day-to-day operations here, and I focus much of my time on behavior modification, the cases where families have started to wonder if their dog will ever fit calmly into normal life.
Before Partners, I spent about six years in rescue, primarily with St. Bernard Rescue, so I have a soft spot for the dogs other people give up on. Even after all these years, my favorite moment is still the same. It is the ah-ha moment between a handler and their dog, when communication finally becomes clear and the two of them truly understand each other.
The best moment is still the ah-ha, when a dog and their person finally understand each other.
Specialties & Programs
Training Philosophy
I train the dog in front of me, not a formula. Our approach is balanced and personalized, and I move each behavior through four stages: Teaching the concept, Reinforcing it until it is consistent, Proofing it against real-world distractions, and building Maintenance so it holds for the long run. Behavior work is rarely about the dog being difficult. It is usually about a dog that has been misunderstood and an owner who has not yet been given the right tools. My job is to close that gap so the household feels calm and predictable again.
Ideal Client & Goals
The dogs I love most are the misunderstood ones, the dogs that have been labeled a problem when they are really just waiting to be understood. My ideal client is someone willing to learn, adapt, practice, and advocate for their dog. When an owner leans into the process with me, we can take a situation that felt hopeless at home and turn it into a dog the whole family can actually live with and enjoy.
Experience
Before joining Partners, I spent about six years in rescue, primarily with St. Bernard Rescue. Over more than nine years at Partners I have grown across puppy training, behavior modification, aversion training, agility, rally, and Canine Good Citizen work, in addition to managing the Cave Creek location day to day.
Favorite moment: My favorite moment is still the ah-ha between handler and dog, the point where communication becomes clear and the two of them truly understand one another.
