Sierra Luttropp
Sierra Luttropp, Senior Instructor at Partners Dog Training in Cave Creek
About Sierra
My name is Sierra, and I am a Senior Instructor at our Cave Creek location. I have been with Partners Dog Training since the beginning of 2020, starting as an Animal Care Tech and Daycare Attendant and working my way up to trainer, then Senior staff. Along the way I have worked with every kind of dog, from cases that need real behavior modification to puppies who just need solid, everyday manners.
I am also the lead instructor for our Friday night High School Group Class, so I get to see families keep building on their dog's foundation week after week. What I care about most is sending you home with a dog that fits your normal life, one you can trust in the house, on a walk, and around the people you love.
Give a driven dog clear rules and a real job, and you get a calm partner at home.
Specialties & Programs
Training Philosophy
I train the balanced way we teach at Partners, which means I meet every dog where it is and adjust to the stage we are working through: Teaching a new behavior, Reinforcing it until it is consistent, Proofing it against real distractions, and Maintenance so it holds for the long run. Dogs with a bit of drive light up when they are given clear rules and a job to do, and that clarity is what turns a busy, over-the-top dog into a calm partner at home. My goal is to leave you with the understanding and the tools to keep that progress going long after our work together.
Ideal Client & Goals
I do my best work with dogs that have just enough drive to be interesting: puppies with energy that needs direction, and working breeds that are happiest when they have a job. The families I connect with most are the ones who stay open to learning and want to be part of the process, because that is how the training sticks and how you end up with a dog that truly fits your day-to-day life.
Experience
I have been with Partners Dog Training since early 2020, moving from Animal Care Tech and Daycare Attendant up to trainer and then Senior staff. In that time I have worked with all kinds of dogs, from behavior modification cases to puppies learning basic manners, and I lead our Friday night High School Group Class at Cave Creek.
Favorite moment: I love the moment a working breed finally gets a real job to do and you can see the whole dog settle, because that focus is what carries over into a calmer home.
